বাংলা spell checking on OpenOffice.org

আমি এটা test করেছি আসলেই কাজ হয়। মজার বেপার হলো এই প্রথম আমি অংকুর এর কোন software test করার সুজোগ পেলাম।

Installation
1. Download hunspell-bn-BD-0.02.tar.bz2
2. Extract and copy "bn_BD.*" (2) files from the archive into your {OpenOffice.org installed folder}\share\dict\ooo\
3. Open the "dictionary.lst" file with any text editor {OpenOffice.org installed folder}\share\dict\ooo\dictionary.lst
4. Add "DICT bn BD bn_BD" after "HYPH af NA hyph_af_ZA" line in the "dictionary.lst" file.
5. The edited "dictionary.lst" file (the bn_BD part) should look like:

6. When finished, restart OpenOffice.org and the OpenOffice.org QuickStarter - if it was running.

Configuration
1. Start OpenOffice.org Writer.
2. "Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids > Available language modules > OpenOffice.org Hunspell SpellChecker > Edit > Language > Bengali (Bangladesh) > Spelling > OpenOffice.org Hunspell SpellChecker" should be available or enabled.

Usage
1. Toggle your keyboard layout and start typing Bangla in unicode.
2. If you use "Bengali (India)" {probably if using Windows XP}, then you need to change the text locale to "Bengali (Bangladesh)" by:
* Select the texts
* Right click on it
* Click "Character..."
* Select "Bengali (Bangladesh)" (it should also have a little check ABC beside it) from the "CTL Font > Language" drop list.
* Press "OK"
* It should spell check and highlight the mis-spelled texts.
* Right click on the highlighted mis-spelled words, it will show the suggestions.

Troubleshooting
1. You can set/change the Bangla font of the Menu in Windows by following steps:
* "Rick click on the Desktop > Properties > Appearance > Advanced > Item: Menu > Font:"
* Select a Bangla unicode font
* Press "OK"
* Press "Apply"

Show Desktop icon delete হয়ে গেলে

ভয়ের কিছু নাই............ যদি Show Desktop icon delete হয়ে যায়। নতুন করে তৈরী করা যায়। খুব সহজেই ফিরিয়ে আনা যাবে Show Desktop icon.

Desktop একটি Notepad open করে নিম্নের line গুলো লিখতে হবে অথবা line গুলো copy করুন

Notepad এ।এরপর Notepad টি Show Desktop.scf or New Desktop.scf নামে save করতে হবে। Quick Launch Toolbar এ drag করে নিয়ে আসুন এবং উপভোগ করুন...........

Bangla FireFox-2

যারা আমার মত মোজিলা ফায়ারফক্স ব্যবহার করেন এবং বাংলাকে ভালবাসেন তারা চাইলে খুব সহজেই মোজিলা ফায়ারফক্স ২ সব option বাংলাতে ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।

১. প্রখমে এই link থেকে en-US.jar ফাইলটা ডাউনলোড করতে হবে।
২. ফায়ারফক্স ২ বন্ধ করতে হবে।
৩. /usr/lib/firefox/chrome/ পাথে যাতে হবে।
৪. এখানে একটি en-US.jar নামে একটা ফাইল পাওয়া যাবে । সেটার নাম পরিবর্তন করে en-US.jar.bak নামে save বা অন্য কোথাও সরিয়ে রাখতে হবে।
৫. এবার download করা en-US.jar ফাইলটি এখানে [/usr/lib/firefox/chrome/] copy করতে হবে।
৬. FireFox আরম্ভ করে দেখুন কোন পার্থক্য দেখা যায় কিনা।

মোজিলা ফায়ারফক্স ২ বাংলা

যারা আমার মত মোজিলা ফায়ারফক্স ব্যবহার করেন এবং বাংলাকে ভালবাসেন তারা চাইলে খুব সহজেই মোজিলা ফায়ারফক্স ২ সব option বাংলাতে ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।

১. প্রখমে এই link থেকে en-US.jar ফাইলটা ডাউনলোড করতে হবে।
২. ফায়ারফক্স ২ বন্ধ করতে হবে।
৩. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome ফোল্ডারে যেতে হবে।
৪. এখানে একটি en-US.jar নামে একটা ফাইল পাওয়া যাবে । সেটার নাম পরিবর্তন করে en-US.jar.bak নামে save বা অন্য কোথাও সরিয়ে রাখতে হবে।
৫. এবার download করা en-US.jar ফাইলটি এখানে [অর্থাৎ C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome] copy করতে হবে।
৬. FireFox আরম্ভ করে দেখুন কোন পার্থক্য দেখা যায় কিনা।
